Overview

Nunthorpe Athletic Junior Football Club is an F.A charter standard community club for grassroots level football [1]. It is located in the Marton and Nunthorpe area in Middlesbrough and acts as an accessible entry point into grassroots football with varying age groupings, including boys, girls and mixed teams, which participate in their respective Teeside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA) and leagues. A senior under 19 team is also ran through the club[2].

The club was founded in 1970 by Colin Mohan at their original home of Nunthorpe and Marton Recreation Club. In October 2018 the club relocated to Nunthorpe Acadamy and continued their usual club runnings. This includes team training sessions run by their respective coaches and open sessions to younger players keen to get involved alongside league games at weekends. Holiday coaching camps have previously been ran during school holidays as well[3].

The club received the prestigious FA community chartered club award in 2011 as a result of meeting the high requirements set up by the FA [4] [5].
