The firm was originally called Onions and Bouchard. Both Onions and Bouchard are credited with popularizing Bermuda-style architecture and attracted a wealthy set of clients, which jump-started the firm to success during its early days, with iconic projects such as Bermuda City Hall. In the 1950s, John Edgar McCulloch joined the firm and the company changed its name to OBM.
