Its products include OroPlatform, OroCRM, and OroCommerce.[1] Oro is based in Los Angeles, California, and founded in 2012 by Yoav Kutner[2], previous CTO and co-founder of Magento[3]; Jary Carter[4], former VP of Sales and Channel at Magento; and Dima Soroka, former lead architect for Magento. Prior to Oro Inc.’s emergence, in 2011, Kutner sold Magento to eBay at roughly a $200M price point.[5][2] Oro started out by developing an Open Source Customer relationship management(CRM) software solution for multi-channel businesses.[6] In 2016, Oro received $12M in funding from Highland Europe.[7] As of 2017 November, Oro had over 240,000 live instances of its product around the world.[2] In 2017, Oro launched OroCommerce as its first B2B e-commerce software product, integrating it with the OroCRM software.[8] Oro’s open source technology software, is available either as on-premise licensed software or through the SaaS model.[8] Oro has a multinational partner ecosystem.[9] Based on the analysis of the B2B eCommerce platform market, Oro, Inc. was granted Frost & Sullivan’s ‘2017 New Product Innovation Award’.[10] Oro’s customers include Frankfurt Airport, Shell Oil Company, Arc International, and SaltWorks, Inc..
