释义 | Owen Riches is a political campaigner from Suffolk, who founded the petition campaign calling for safe standing to be legalised and introduced in the Premier League and English Football League.[1] The petition gathered 112,026 signatures over 6 months, gathering media attention after Tracey Crouch rejected the application submitted by West Bromwich Albion F.C. for a safe standing area [2] [3], and after the petition promoted a parliamentary debate, and numerous other fan polls took place[4], the government were promoted into reviewing safe standing.[5] On the final day of the petition being open, on 8 June 2018, Dr Rosena Allin-Khan announced that the Labour Party would support the safe standing campaign.[6] [7] |
