{{AFC submission|d|bio|u=Ggng|ns=118|decliner=Bkissin|declinets=20181203191134|ts=20181203162508}} {{AFC comment|1=If it can be verified that "Secretary General for Youth" is actually a cabinet-level position, then not having a seat in parliament wouldn't be the redline (the two don't automatically always have to go together, see e.g. the United States where the cabinet operates extracongressionally as White House officials, rather than comprising sitting congresspeople.) If it's a subcabinet office, however, then the inclusion test is the degree to which he can be sourced over GNG, rather than an automatic guarantee of notability just for the fact of holding an office -- but as already noted, the sources here aren't getting him past GNG, as they indeed represent primary sources rather than media coverage (and the citation to Βικιπαίδεια definitely has to go, as we're not allowed to do circular referencing to ourselves.) Bearcat (talk) 19:36, 3 December 2018 (UTC)}}{{AFC comment|1=It doesn't look like he was elected to the Hellenic Parliament, which would make him ineligible for NPOL. {{u|Bearcat}}, do you think being a cabinet member would suffice? (Though, in looking at the article for the Second Cabinet of Alexis Tspiras, I don't see him listed. Seems like an internal SYRIZA figure more than anything else. Pafsanias Papageorgiou ({{lang-el|Παυσανίας Παπαγεωργίου}} (born in Piraeus, 1978) is a Greek lawyer and politician, currently serving as the Secretary General for Youth[1], in the General Secretariat of the Government providing support to the Second Cabinet of Alexis Tsipras, that was formed following the September 2015 Greek legislative election.

Early life and education

Papageorgiou was born in Piraeus, and grew up in Aitoliko, municipality of Missolonghi(Sacred City of Messolonghi), in Aetolia-Acarnania.

He graduated from a public high school in 1996 and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and the Department of Languages, Literature and Media of the University of Hamburg (Universität Hamburg). He earned his Master’s Degree summa cum laude from the Institute of Ancient Greek and Latin Literature.

He participated in numerous interdisciplinary research programs and acquired professional teaching experience in Germany.[2]. His research interests lie in the areas of legal linguistics and more in particular the grammatical interpretation and verbal formulation of juridical terminology and texts, as well as the relation between law and linguistic culture.

He acquired years of practical experience in lifelong learning through planning programmes aiming at the integration of multilingual citizens with an immigrant background in the European social and cultural structure.[3]

He is the great grandson of the Greek Army officer and politician Pafsanias Katsotas. He is married and has one son.

Political career

In the September 2015 Greek legislative election he run with Syriza in the electoral district of Aitoloakarnania. [4]He has served as a special consultant to the Minister of State, under Nikos Pappas [5].

From November 2015 to August 2018 he served as Secretary General for Lifelong Learning and Youth in the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs [6], under Nikos Filis and Konstantinos Gavgroglou. Since August 2018 he serves as Secretary General for Youth in the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs. He is also a member of the Governing Board of the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) [7].

In June 2018, the Strategic Framework for the Empowerment of Youth, entitled “Youth ’17-’27”, was elaborated under his supervision.[8] The text of the framework specifies the principles and the objectives of Youth Policy in Greece, taking into consideration not olnly current youth transformations and their social, economic and cultural dimensions, but also the processes that secure active participation of youth in policy making. This framework reflects the result of a broad and country-wide consultation with young people and youth organizations, and is the third National Youth Strategy elaborated in Greece, since the political changeover of 1974[9].

On October 11 2018, Papageorgiou and the German Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Dr. Franziska Giffey, signed the Statutes of the Greco-German Cooperation for Youth[10]between the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of the Hellenic Republic[11] [12]. The signing of the Statutes took place in the margins of the state visit of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to the Hellenic Republic in Athens[13][14] [15]
