[https://www.patpat.com PatPat] was founded in 2014, by close friends Albert Wang (CEO) and Ken Gao (COO) in Mountain View, California. Wang and Gao both earned their Master’s degrees in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They also worked together as principal engineers at Oracle shortly thereafter.

When Gao was expecting his first child, he explored options in the children's clothing industry which inspired him and Wang to create a shopping platform targeted to moms and their families.
