Paulette Guerin (born 1984){{citation needed|date=January 2019}} is an American poet and college professor.

Education

Guerin graduated summa cum laude with a BA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University in 2006. While at LSU, she worked with the poet Laura Mullen and other faculty and students on the Katrina Writing Project.[1] Her undergraduate thesis, a collection of poems entitled Traces, won the June Martin and Walter Rudd Honors Thesis Award for the Humanities. Her thesis formed the basis of the chapbook, Polishing Silver, published by Finishing Line Press in November 2011.[2]

In the summer of 2013, she received a scholarship to attend the Sewanee Writers' Conference at the University of the South. In 2015, she received her MFA in Poetry from the University of Florida, where her thesis, the poetry collection Mountain Air, was directed by noted poet and critic William Logan.{{citation needed|date=January 2019}}

Work

She is currently an Assistant Professor of English at Harding University. Her poetry has appeared in The Tishman Review, Timberline Review, 2River View, Contemporary Verse 2, Concho River Review, and other literary journals.[3]

In 2018, she was selected by guest editor and poet Kyle Dargan to appear in the Best New Poets anthology.[4][5]
