Paul Hayden Greer (December 7, 1924 - September 2, 2017) was an American B-17 fighter pilot in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Personal LifePaul was born on December 7, 1924 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and was the only child of Manning Paschal Greer and Mary Ellen Hayden. He has three daughters: Linda, Susan, and Lisa; one son: David; seven grandchildren and over 20 great grandchildren. Military CareerPaul was enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He would then serve in World War II and flew 35 combat missions across Europe. After the war ended, he was a member of the United States Air Force reserve, and performed services for such 20 years. Post-Military LifeFollowing the retirement of duties, he then studied at California Institute of Technology and completed at Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy for a degree in the electrical and engineering fields. His family would later move to Arizona, in which he started a new job in the Semiconductor and Government Electronics department at Motorola in 1950. His career with Motorola lasted for 39 years. DeathPaul passed away on September 2, 2017 in Scottsdale, Arizona with a funeral that was held at his final meetinghouse of his faith in Phoenix, Arizona on September 13, 2017. His body was then buried at Green Acres Cemetery and Mortuary in Scottsdale.
