PeaceTech Lab works to prevent and reduce violent conflict using technology, media, and data.[1] An independent nonprofit, the organization brings together engineers and activists, social scientists and data scientists and other key leaders to develop effective peacebuilding solutions. The organization focuses on stopping online hate speech [2], combining tech and peacebuilding through PeaceTech Exchanges, and using media to build peace in local communities around the world. [3] PeaceTech Lab has or has had programs in South Sudan, Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Myanmar, India, Macedonia, Costa Rica, and elsewhere. PeaceTech Lab began at the United States Institute of Peace and then spun-out in 2014.
