Pe'amim is a scholarly interdisciplinary journal dedicated to Jewish communities in the East, published by the Ben-Zvi Institute for the Study of Jewish Communities in the East. The first issue was published in 1979, and up until the present (2019) 155 issues have been published. Articles published in Pe'amim deal with a wide variety of topics related to Jewish communities in Spain, the Mediterranean and the east, and some of the journals' issues are dedicated to a specific theme or topic. Pe'amim's founding editor was Yitzhak Bezalel (1979 – 1994); he was followed by Shalom Ratsabi, David Malkiel and Avriel Bar Levav.
