People of the Earth is an American contemporary Christian music (CCM) and worship band from Somerset, Kentucky that takes its name from a scripture passage found in the book of Psalms (Psalm 117).^[1] The group was formed out of the worship music and creative arts program of the church they attend together. It features Dustin Fenison on vocals and acoustic guitar, Steve Hampton on electric guitar, Jorge Lopez Jr. on drums.^[2] The band has released one full length studio album, one EP, and has appeared on four compilation albums.

History

People of the Earth released two independent albums under another artist name before its label debut. Its debut album, We Are People of the Earth, was released on April 14, 2015, on Vital Records through the Daywind Music Group distributed by [https://newdaychristian.com/newday New Day Christian Distributors].^[3] The band began a tour in promotion of the album near that time. The album hit the # 3 on the Billboard U.S. Heatseekers Music chart in August 11, 2015.

On June 23rd 2017, the band independently released an EP entitled In All Things.^[4] The EP featured six tracks including the standout “That’s Who Jesus Is” which has been streamed over 940,000 times on Spotify as well as a rendition of “Death Was Arrested” (originally recorded by North Point InsideOut).^[5] The band has received noted streaming success across multiple platforms.^[6]

The band has toured with 7eventh Time Down, Audio Adrenaline, Alisa Turner, and have headlined their own concerts throughout the United States. The band has also played shows with Casting Crowns, Switchfoot, Relient K, Newsboys, and Kutless.^[7] The band has also played for numerous worship events for national student organizations including Student Life Camps (Lifeway Christian Resources)

On July 21st, 2018 the band signed an exclusive digital distribution deal with Capitol Christian Music Group for future releases.
