Peter Mahon (born 1971 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish author, researcher and teacher..[1] He currently teaches in the Department of English Languages and Literature at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.[2]

Mahon's work covers a variety of areas: literary modernism (particularly the work of James Joyce[3][4][5][6]), the Northern Irish conflict[7][8][9][10] and, more recently, information, technology and posthumanism[5][11].

To date, Mahon is the author of four books.[12][13]: Imagining Joyce and Derrida: Between Finnegans Wake and Glas (U of Toronto P, 2007)[14]; Joyce: A Guide for the Perplexed (Continuum, 2009)[15]; Violence, Politics and Textual Interventions in Northern Ireland (Palgrave, 2010)[16]; Posthumanism: A Guide for the Perplexed (Bloomsbury, 2017)[15]

Several of Mahon's essays and reviews have appeared in academic journals such as ELH, James Joyce Quarterly, Irish University Review, Partial Answers, while others have appeared in various edited academic collections[17][18]
