Photomyne Ltd. is an image scanning software development startup company, founded in February 2015 by four Israeli entrepreneurs[1][1]. Its main product is a feature-rich smartphone app for scanning old prints and turning them into digital files[2] which can then be shared, edited and annotated. In addition, the app synchronizes and backs up the newly digital photo files to the company's cloud.[3][4].

The app's AI-based scanning algorithm can detect multiple photos in a single scanning shot, and then proceeds to crop and save those into individual digital photos in an album in the app[1][5]. Additional app features include applying color filters, manual cropping[6], adding photo metadata such as names[7], location, dates and description[5]. In addition, active account members can access, edit and download their scanned photos from the web, on the company's web portal[8]. As of February 2018, Photomyne's photo scanner app (on both iOS and Android) has been downloaded by more than 4 million users worldwide, who scanned over than 60 million photos, and shared 24 million photos to date. In 2016 Photomyne raised $2.6 million in seed funding from private investors[9]. As of Dec 2017 the mobile app is available in 12 languages.

The company's headquarters are in Bnei Brak, Israel.

History

Photomyne was founded in February 2015 by Nir Tzemah (CEO), Yair Segalovitz (CFO), Omer Shoor (CTO) and Natalie Verter (CDO)[1]. The company's mission is to simplify the way people preserve their photo memories[10]. In North America alone, it is estimated that people have taken well over 550 billion family photos over the last 70 plus years, according to research firm GfK North America[11] Photomyne Ltd. sought to develop a DIY application that simplifies photo digitization, rendering it a fast and easy process. Photomyne's first mobile app was made available for iPhones and iPads on July, 2015 on [https://itunes.apple.com/ Apple's App store][12][13]

Products and Services

Photomyne's photo scanner app is available on iPhones, iPads, and selected Android devices. Awards and Mentions

In November 2016, Photomyne was featured on NBC's The Today Show as a recommended home storage solution tool for the holidays[17].
