As a specialist in international humanitarian affairs, related mainly to health and the environment, he has been involved for nearly thirty years in various humanitarian organizations, such as Médecins du Monde and Action Against Hunger, and he has written numerous books on humanitarian matters of concern. He lectures at the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies (French: Institut d’études politiques de Genoble, IEP), and is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Grenoble, Vice President of Action Against Hunger, and member of the National Council of Mental Health. BiographyPierre Micheletti, born on July 28, 1958, is a French physician committed to humanitarianism. Holder of a PhD and a national degree in Public Health from the Université de Rennes in 2000, Pierre Micheletti took on his first foreign assignments in French Guiana and China [1] between 1985 and 1987 during his medical internship. In 1987, he joined Médecins du Monde as Head of Mission in Guatemala [2]. Since then, he has been involved in humanitarian work across the world, mainly in Africa − Darfur, Rwanda, Republic of Congo, etc. − but also in Asia − Timor, Myanmar, etc. − in the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. He was Program Director at Médecins du Monde in 1996, and he became a member of its Board of Directors in 2003, and then was subsequently elected as its President from 2006 to 2009 [3], [4] Since 2009, he has been an Associate Professor at the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the NGO, Action Against Hunger, in 2014. He became its Vice-President in 2015. Since then, he has also been President of the Health Commission of UNIOPSS (French: Union nationale interfédérale des oeuvres et organismes privés sanitaires et sociaux).
