| 释义 | The Portuguese wedding boat is a very old tradition from medieval times. When a couple would get engaged, a wedding boat was crafted from papyrus manuscript paper as a gift to the bride and groom. It is a symbol of good luck and the newlyweds would traditionally hold on to the paper boat until their 20 year anniversary. If the boat is damaged before that time it is normally associated with bad luck. |
