Oceania, officially the Principality of Oceania is a claimed micronation bordering the Faroe Islands, founded by Prince Maddock I (born Aug 02, 2002) and headquartered at his home in North Texas. The Principality of Oceania has claimed itself a nation but it is not recognised as a country by the United Nations or any major government.

History

The origins of Oceania come from came from Prince Maddock I wanting a better chance for people and a new life for others. He started to gather as much information needed to construct Principality of Oceania which then found out that "A Micronation May Be Started As A Sovereign State". Which gave Prince Maddock I the courage to start the wonderful Principality of Oceania, and the name comes from the prince loving Oceania and it's countries and beaches.^[1]

Sovereign Territory

The Principality of Oceania shall be located in Lítla Dímun Island, North West of Faeroe Island. And shall have the only jurisdiction as a Micro-nation on the lands as a sovereign independent state under the jurisdiction of Faeroe Islands and the United States. The Island shall remain uninhabited under the treaty of Oceania Uninhibited to make the island a landmark of beauty and prosperity.

Politics

Government

Oceania is a constitutional monarchy and sovereign micronation whereby the power of the Prince is very limited. As a public figurehead, he is defined by the constitution to be "the symbol of Prince Maddock I Royal Family". Executive power is wielded chiefly by the First Minister and his cabinet, while sovereignty is vested in the Oceania people.

Oceania's Legislative Body is built by the parliamentary system, with two "2" parliament members for each district in the island. It is also built on by a national vote by the people of Oceania, to be classified as a parliament member.

The capital "Jocelyn" shall be composed of municipal government with elected officials and run by the town's mayor. It is also run by the town's Pro Temp Mayor who shall be in charge of the town's Police Constable Service and Fire Brigade.

Military

Military Summary

Oceania maintains a sovereign micronation military, who shall only protect it's Prince Maddock I Royal Family, due to the sovereign status of our micronation.

The Faroe Islands Armed Forces shall protect our island from all "enemy" attacks and any rescues needed by the Faroe Islands Coast Guard.

Our island falls under the jurisdiction of all Faroe Islands military restrictions and powers and shall obey them at all times at any given time or period.
