Project Dekadenz is a crust punk' / D-beat'', sludge metal' band from Estonia, that was created in the end of august 2010. The band has released 3 albums, one of which is an EP (Extended play). The band was formed in Tartu, Estonia, where the members first met. Project Dekadenz is hard to put in a narrow box of genre, since each album has been different from the last one. The main components are crust punk, d-beat, sludge and doom metal. Fast riffs intersected with slower parts, spewing forth a massive sonic chaos. The music has also been charaterized as blackened crust. The band has released a DIY music video to the song "Cancer Of Society", which was released in year 2013, and "Assassinate Authority" (2014). The second album "D-Day Apocalypse" was released by Destroy Sounds Records; that is the only physycal cassette from the album, whith only 100 copies made. Half of which had black and other half white layout. HistoryAll three members who came together in the end of august were familiar with punk music and the ideology. Tiit Pähnapuu and Tõnis Tamberg had played in Blank Row before, which had broken up recently, and the guys were looking for a new way of going forth. The third member, Sander Luuk was the founder of a famous estonian punk forum and played drums in bands D'efekt and Substance. After successfully living through the first practices in the first month of playing, the band was offered their first concert. Since there weren't enough songs at first, a big chunk of setlist had to be improvised. Also there was the pressing need for a name, which came to be Project Dekadenz. Figuring out that the sound is way better when there's a bassplayer, they started to search for somebody capable of delivering. When the fourth member Siim Raudsepp was found, they started working on the first album, which was experimental and still searching, but already definitely crust punk. After the first album Siim Parisoo joined on the second guitar who greatly changed the sound of the band, bringing in sludge and doom elements. In 2015, both Siim's and Tiit left to dedicate their time to other projects and Norman Uustal, a young punk from Ida-Virumaa joined the band on bass and guitar duties were taken over by a local legend Kraana (Currently guitarist in Crystal Cloisters). In 2017 Kraana left to concentrate more on his main band and two new guys Rauno Tali and Eerik Kokk were taken aboard as the new six-stringers. With this line-up the band took on their longest european tour so far, playing in 10 gigs in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Germany and Austria. Thanks to Tartu underground punk scene and the active members, the Krokodilli Klubi was founded. When at first it was a band rehearsal space, then after time it began to look a whole lot more like an underground venue with hordes of likeminded local and foreing bands have played. Band members have also had numerous other projects, some of which are Atomic caravan (doom/stoner rock), ROWN (proto doom), Swarn (crust punk/D-beat), Shitflowers (hardcore-punk), Blank Row (D-beat/hardcore punk).
