Additionally, the organization seeks to inform and communicate with the public about general issues regarding animal welfare, animal ownership, agriculture, land use, and hunting and fishing[2]. Board Members include: · Forrest Lucas - The organization’s founder and Executive Director · Glen Klippenstein - a former Missouri State Representative, · Dale Ludwig - President and Founder of Elevation Ag and the CEO of AgriNext. · Theresa Lucas McMahan – Project Coordinator for Lucas Oil Products, Inc. · Eric Whitley – President and principal of Downforcemarketing LLC · Tom Frederickson - Chief Operating Officer for Lucas Oil Products, Inc. Support of Agriculture and Animal OwnershipAgriculture, Farming, and RanchingProtect The Harvest works to protect vulnerable sectors of agriculture at grass-roots local, state and federal levels[1]. The organization believes farming and ranching are being threatened by extremist groups in the United States[3][4]. Education about Animal Rights and Animal WelfareProtect The Harvest invests resources in educating and informing the public about animal rights and other non-governmental groups and their activities that impact animal ownership and animal welfare including, livestock, pets and performing animals[3]. Over the years Protect The Harvest has worked to also find solutions to the horse over-population crises on American range lands[5]. Wild Spayed Filly FuturityProtect The Harvest selected 12 fillies to offer for sale at the 2017 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity. These fillies are invited back to the 2018 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity to compete in their own division for a $25,000 purse. The twelve fillies offered in this special event were selected from the Three Fingers, South Steen’s and Beaty’s Butte herd management areas (HMA). By the time of the sale, all of the fillies were spayed, vaccinated and handled for 30 days.[5] The trainers have one year to train them to compete in all three categories of a reined cow horse competition: herd work, rein work, and fence work. According to their website, the goal of the competition is to showcase the significance and abilities of these resilient, tough and beautiful horses. It will also demonstrate their trainability and hopefully encourage more people to consider adopting a wild mustang. The second goal of the program is to help find economical, safe solutions in controlling the numbers of horses on American rangelands.[5] Movie Collaborations with ESX EntertainmentProtect the Harvest has collaborated with ESX Entertainment and Forrest Films to produce several movies including The Dog Lover, Pray for Rain, Running Wild, American Wrestler, and DIRT[6]. · Dog Lover: Based on the true story of a dog breeder that was targeted by an animal rights extremist group. · Running Wild: Stella Davis, a widow who saves her ranch by working with convicts to rehabilitate a herd of wild horses that wandered on to her property. Stella must fight prejudice, greed, bureaucracy and vanity (including her own) to finally understand that there is no better remedy to misfortune than helping another living creature. · Pray For Rain: A murder mystery that explores the political forces behind the man-made drought American farmers in the California Central Valley are facing. · American Wrestler: The story of a young immigrant who comes to the United States and how he overcomes adversity to realize his dreams · DIRT: The movie is about a young apprentice who is given a chance to go pro and follow his dreams of racing; the inexperienced teen finds himself competing against legends.
