History2CBD began broadcasting from Deepwater[2]. Broadcasting commenced on the 105.9 FM frequency, but was later changed to 91.9 FM. The station was located in the Deepwater Train Station. In 2004 the station set up transmission facilities in Glen Innes located at the Glen Innes Severn Council Water Treatment Plant. 2CBD, in consultation with its members and the community, moved its studio facilities to Glen Innes, with the Deepwater transmitter becoming a relay. In 2015, 2CBD purchased a property on Church Street, which became the Glen Innes Radio Centre. The building now hosts the radio station's operations. Staff and ProgrammingThe station is staffed entirely by volunteers, and has no paid staff. 2CBD plays a wide variety of music including easy listening, country, golden oldies and more. Some programs are dedicated to specialty music styles. The station is committed to playing a minimum of 25% Australian music. 2CBD has a focus on local content relevant to residents and visitors of the wider Glen Innes area[3]. Interviews with local organisations and musicians are broadcast regularly. |
