Reyes Oteo (born 1 November 1982 in Seville, Spain), is a Spanish composer and electronic luthier.

Biography

Born in Seville in 1982, she studied violin, viola, philosophy and electronics, and graduated in 2007 in Music Composition. She has received commissions and concerts in auditoriums such as Fonoteca Nacional de México, Central University of New York and Roulette (USA), Idka Festival (Sweden), Reina Sofía National Art Center (Spain), Cordoba Contemporary Music Fest, Santiago de Compostela Campus Estellae Fest, Guggenheim Museum - BIO-Jet Lag Fest, RadicaldB Festival - Etopía, Centro de Arte y Tecnología, Zaragoza-, Teatro Cervantes de Málaga, with its Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra of Bilbao or Sibelius-Akatemi Music and Technology Center, Helsinki, Finland. She has invented and developed many new music instruments, such as Phoenix Stone, Stone with Nails (instruments commissioned for the opera of Diana Pérez "12 piedras: ritual"),[1] the Fructophone, and the Wormphone. In 2017 works in collaboration of SIMMO technologies, composing Dringilin-Dranguak,[2] premiered in Guggenheim Museum Bilbao by Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa. Oteo teaches at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga, working there since 2011 as a professor.

Music style

Her music ranges from contemporary classical instrumental music to experimental electronic music.
