Ripple Island is an island located in the San Juan Islands in the Puget Sound in Washington State. In 1976 it was designated as a wilderness area with the creation of the San Juan Wilderness [1] "Ripple Island, with an area of 3.25 acres, is located near the east end of Johns Island and separated from it by a narrow shallow channel. Ripple Island is low and flat and surrounded by reefs. Its maximum elevation is about 20 feet. Some portions of the surface of Ripple Island are covered with glacial drift and alluvium and a dense growth of shrubs and grasses occurs on these areas."
