Robert "Rob" CanfieldRobert "Rob" Canfield (b. February 11, 1991) is a politician from New Jersey who has run for Mayor of the Brick Township, New Jersey in 2017[1] and the Brick Township Board of Education in 2018[2]. In his first race, he ran as an Independent candidate and joined the Republican Party in early 2018. His campaigns have focused on being fiscally conservative and to bring transparency to government. In 2018, he notably called out the Board of Education President on an alleged "pay-to-play" scandal involving an insurance firm that the Board and Township both use.[3]He graduated from the University of Valley Forge in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry. Him and his wife have been married since May of 2014. Canfield has announced a run for the Brick Township Board of Education for 2019, but is hinting at a run for governor in 2021. He will be 30 years old, which means he will be eligible to run. He plans to stay with the Republican ticket during the run.[4] Outside of politics, Canfield is a Minister with the Assemblies of God USA, a Realtor with Keller Williams, and a Commissioned Notary Public in the state of New Jersey.
