Niter told Houston Chronicle, “Sure it’s nice to be recognized, but it’s not about an award or a medal. The feeling of knowing that you saved someone’s life is truly an amazing feeling. Knowing that our actions that day prevented someone from dying and gave them another chance.” [15][16] Niter was later honored as a hero of Houston by then, mayor Annise Parker.[17] CareerNiter's most prominent acting role is in David Gordon Green's, Halloween thriller.[18][19][20] Niter cast as Deputy Sheriff Walker in the movie alongside actress and author, Jamie Lee Curtis. According to The Post & Courier, Niter expressed his excitement about the film.
