| 释义 | Roger Sherwood, born 2nd November 1946, is an EX professional footballer, manager and chairman in the footballing industry. He is best known for his time spent playing for Swaythling athletic football club, later named Eastleigh football club [1]. After joining in 1968 Sherwood had a superb footballing career at the club, scoring some 139 goals in 280 games, and unfortunately retiring due to injury. Sherwood went on to chairman the club for many seasons, before stepping in as manager from the 1994/95 until the 1996/97 season after the sacking of don Gowans in 1994/95. Sherwood retired as chairman in 2007, and in his 9 seasons as chairman, oversaw the clubs spectacular rise from the Wessex league[2] to the conference league, later named vanarama national league[3] |
