Romanesque House, Wrocław{{AFC submission|t||ts=20180821092727|u=Krzylig|ns=118|demo=}}Currently the "House of the Ladies of Trzebnica" - Romanesque Villa at Bishop's Nankier Square in Wrocław, Poland – an early-Gothic building dated back to the beginning of the 13th century (mentioned in 1208), partly reconstructed after World War II. It was the centre of the Cistercians from Trzebnica, which is why it was also called the "House of the Ladies of Trzebnica" (“Dom Panien Trzebnickich”). Nearby, along the Kotlarska ST, there were Nowe Jatki (medieval shopping center), belonged to the monastery in Trzebnica. The building was erected on a trapezoidal plan made of brick laid in a Wendish thread (two-wheeled, also called Slavonic). The Romanesque elements of this building (including arches in the central part) adjoin in it with gothic details (including windows and arches of vaults). On each of the two floors of the building there were originally three rooms. The building was repeatedly rebuilt and remained property of the monastery until the dissolution of monasteries in 1810. During the WWII the site around Bishop Nankier' Square was damaged. During the renovation in 1959[1] historic fragments of the oldest architectural foundation of the building located under the street level was discovered. A few years later, in the years 1966-1969, it was partially reconstructed according to the project of Henryk Dziurla. During the eight centuries, the level of neighboring streets has risen to the height of the upper storey of the building, so that why today the entrance goes down the stairs. In the southern part of the lower storey there are fragments of the old barrel vaults, and on the upper floor - cross vaults. During the reconstruction, in the part of the building, the ceiling was removed, joining the upper and lower storeys, and the whole building was covered with a contemporary reinforced concrete roof[2]. The above-ground part was glazed from the outside. The place was then adapted for the needs of the photographic gallery under the patronage of the Center for Culture and Art in Wrocław (OkiS)[3]. Later, the gallery was transformed into Foto-Medium-Art Gallery. Then it changed its name to the "Lower Silesia Center of Photography, Romanesque House". Currently it is the [https://okis.pl/galeria-foto-gen-2/ "FOTO-GEN Gallery"]. In April 2017, a bronze plaque commemorating the Cistercian foundation "House of the Ladies of Trzebnica" was placed in the facade of the building.
