Ronnie Zeidel is an American sports agent, specializing in basketball. He founded RZA Sports, a sports agency based in New York.  As a sports agent, Zeidel has represented basketball players in the National Basketball Association (NBA), NBA G League, and international leagues in Europe, Australia and China. Ronnie is NBA & FIBA certified.

Early life and education

Zeidel grew up in Bayside Queens, New York in a two family home owned by his father who is a Holocaust survivor. He attended Benjamin N. Cardozo High School, where legendary high school coach Ron Naclerio has been coaching since the early 1980’s and is the winningest high school basketball coach in the history of New York city and state. Zeidel graduated from University at Albany, SUNY earning his degree in English and Communication.

Career

Zeidel’s career started in basketball operations with the New York Knicks in the early 90's where he helped start the first ever Knicks' overnight summer camp for kids.[1] He worked in the basketball operations for several years and helped the team prepare for NBA Summer League, Knicks’ summer program, and assisted in the scouting department. [1] Zeidel then went on to join Harris Publications in 1995 and as the Associate Publisher helped launch SLAM Magazine.[1][2] He spent 14 years at Harris Publications working with clients such as Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Puma, Foot Locker, Gatorade, Nissan, Levi Strauss & Co.’s and many other brands. In addition, at SLAM Magazine, Zeidel had the opportunity to work with many players over the years such as Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Jason Williams, Vince Carter, Stephen Curry and J.J. Redick among others.[1][2] In 1997, while at Harris Publications, Zeidel also helped launch XXL a hip-hop magazine that grew to become the largest hip-hop magazine in the industry.[1] After leaving SLAM Magazine in 2008, Zeidel created Clutch Media and Marketing where he signed and worked with clients such as Foot Locker, Mitchell & Ness, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, HeadBlade and many others.[1] Clutch Media also produced the St. John's University (New York City), Villanova University and the Big East Conference Basketball televisions shows. After Clutch Media, in 2011, Zeidel went to work at the NBA where he helped launch iHoops the official Youth Initiative of the NCAA & NBA where he was Vice President of Marketing Partnerships and Brand Development.[1][2] Over the years, Zeidel consulted for many brands in the basketball space. In 1998, he signed a 3-year deal with Puma to help the brand resurge in basketball space after many years.[3] Zeidel signed then rookie Vince Carter to a 10-year deal. He also signed J.J. Redick and Stephen Curry to Shotloc deals.[4] Zeidel later found RZA Sports in 2016.[2][3][5]
