Short Biography

RoxorLoops is a professional beatboxer and vocal artist from Belgium.

He is Belgian and Vice World Champion Beatbox, and soloist at the Royal Academy for Music in Aalborg (DK).

He was a judge in 4 World Beatbox Championships and over 30 national Beatbox Championships.

He received a ‘Blue Note Award’ and the ‘BeatBox Special Award’.

He is known to be one of the best beatbox teacher and gave lessons at prestigious places like The Real Festival, Vocal Jazz Summit, Europa Cantat, London A Cappella Festival, Aarhus Vocal Festival, Stanford University, The Royal Academie of Music in Aalborg, World Beatbox Camp...)

He was the vocal percussionist for Zap Mama, Witloof Bay (Eurosong 2011), Bruk Braders, WAM and Vox North.

He did guest performances for The Real Group, Swingle Singers, Leveleleven, Voces8, Clouseau, Lady Linn...

He has been creating/performing in Theater and Dance shows: Les Daltoniens, Urban Nomads and Shobana Jeyasingh dance company[1].

He was a member and is the creator of ‘Beatoxic’, ‘Bruk Braders’ and ‘Wait A Minute’.

Life biography

Born in Asse (Belgium) on 28 april 1984 as Senjka Danhieux. Started beatboxing at the age of 17 after hearing the probably most legendary sentence in beatbox history “The beat and the chorus at the same time”(Rahzel – if your mother only knew) He became Belgian Champion at 20 and vice world champion a year after. He is a regular member of international beatbox contest juries. To date RoxorLoops is considered by many as one of the best beatboxers in the world although he himself clearly states there is no best. He has worked with some top a cappella groups such as The Swingle Singers (UK), The Real Group (SE) and Voces8 (UK). He was the resident beatboxer of Witloof Bay (BE) and Voxnorth (DK) and ZAP MAMA (BE). He also performed in contemporary dance and theatre projects such as Les Daltoniens and Urban Nomads. He finished his studies as a soloist at the Royal Academy for Music in Aalborg (DK) and now tours the world with the vocal looping project ‘RoxorLoops & Jasmin’

Style: His style is famous for its technical and ultra realistic flavor. Being able to create complex rhythm patterns he is perfect for both live and in recording studios.

Influence: Old skool beatboxers Rahzel and Kenny Muhammad, Michael Winslow, Bobby McFerrin, Zap Mama, Buddy Rich and all styles of music.

Achievements: Belgian and Vice-world champion beatbox. Beatbox Battle Networks Special Beatbox Award. Blue note jazz award for individual achievement. Songwriter of the Belgian song for Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Finalist in Must Be The Music, Poland. Semi Finals of Belgium’s Got Talent. Soloist at the Royal Academy for Music in Aalborg.

Influences on the beatbox world:

Roxorloops is the the first beatboxer to be known as a 'new-school' beatboxer. He was the first beatboxers to take the technical approach to beatboxing instead of the parrot method that was seen in the 'old-school' generation.

He popularized the use of triplets, and beat in 6/8 and was a pioneer of techno music within the beatbox world.
