| 释义 | It is Class of Ballistic missile submarines speculated to be developed for the Indian Navy, work on it has been started a decade ago. It will be the successor of Arihant Class Submarine[1] and will be twice larger than Arihant Class Submarine. It will be designated as S5 and will be as big as Ohio class nuclear-powered submarines currently used by the United States Navy. It is unclear how many S5[2] sister class ships will be developed at this point in time but according to some sources 4 would submarines of this class would be developed with 2 at a time. The construction of this class of SSBN is yet to commence and it is likely to start nearly a decade from now.[3] |
