Sahara Group is a Nigerian energy conglomerate founded by the trio of Tonye Cole, Tope Shonubi and Ade Odunsi. It is the largest energy conglomerate in West Africa and one of the largest in the continent.{{cn}}

Sahara Group was founded in 1996^[1] as an energy trading company, originally with the name Sahara Energy Resources Nigeria Limited, with the goal of trading in petroleum products. The company later moved into other sectors of the industry, including the upstream petroleum sector. The company currently has interests in the power sector, with stakes in the country's largest power distribution network, Ikeja Electric^[2] and Egbin Power, Nigeria's major power plant.

Sahara Group also, in partnership with Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), runs West Africa Gas Limited (WAGL), a joint venture aimed at the supply of cooking gas.^[3]

The group now owns and operates different subsidiaries in different sectors, and has presence in different African countries, and in some other countries outside the shores of Africa, including Switzerland, Dubai and Singapore. Sahara Group is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria
