The Salish Class vessels are operated by BC Ferries were built in 2016 at Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. in Gdansk, Poland. Each Ship is able to carry 600 passengers and 138 cars and runs on 100% LNG as well as duel fuel capabilities, and were the first marine vessals in the world to run on 100% LNG. The Salish Orca entered service on the Comox-Powell River route in May. The Salish Eagle entered service on the Tsawwassen-Southern Gulf Islands route in June. The Salish Raven entered service for the Southern Gulf Islands on Augest 3rd, 2017.
