Gallagher, and stars Natalie Knepp, Sean Kleier, Morgan Fairchild, and Brock Harris. It premiered at the Nashville Film Festival[1] on April 21, 2015 before a theatrical release the following year. SynopsisSam (Brock Harris) is a womanizer who lives with his best friend Doc (Sean Kleier) in New York. While drunk in the street, Sam stumbles into a small shop. He is taken to the shopkeeper (Stacy Keach) and back home after receiving a mysterious drink. The next day, he wakes up as a woman (Natalie Knepp). Now as "Samantha", he begins to live uncomfortably– trying to adapt to his new life and reverse the sex change, while experiencing the same harassment that he used to give to women. His new life also brings developments in his relationships with his friend Doc and Cynthia. Cast
ReleaseThe financing of the film was by Nicholas Brooks and his father, Mel Brooks.[2] The film was first premiered in 2015 at the Nashville Film Festival, AFI Fest[3] and SoHo International Film Festival.[4] In May 2016, Vision Films began to deal with international film sales at the Cannes Film Festival.[5] ReceptionThe site sbccfilmreviews.org reviews highlighted: "The only reason this film made it in the festival was because the great Mel Brooks produced it. There is talent on screen, for sure, but it is wasted on a frustratingly formulaic script and awkward/bland cinematographic execution. Thanks to a mostly solid cast and satisfying third act, though, this won’t be the worst film you ever see."[6] References1. ^{{cite web |url= http://www.moviemaker.com/archives/festivals/afi-fest-2015-moviemaker-survey/2/ |title= Who’s Behind the Camera?: AFI FEST 2015 Moviemakers on Favorite Recent Films, Festival Moments and Cameras |access-date= September 3, 2016 |author= MM Editors |date= November 4, 2015 |work= Moviemaker}} 2. ^{{cite web |url= http://www.indiewire.com/2015/11/heres-how-the-afi-fest-2015-filmmakers-funded-their-films-54706/ |title= Here’s How the AFI FEST 2015 Filmmakers Funded Their Films |access-date= September 3, 2016 |author= Paula Bernstein |date= November 9, 2015 |work= Indiewire}} 3. ^{{cite web |url= https://www.thewrap.com/afi-fest-adds-ridley-scott-conversation-michael-caines-youth/ |title= AFI Fest Adds Ridley Scott Conversation, Michael Caine’s ‘Youth’ |access-date= September 2, 2016 |author= Thom Geier |date= October 26, 2015 |work= The Wrap}} 4. ^{{cite web |url= http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwmovies/article/2015-SOHO-INTL-FILM-FESTIVAL-Kicks-Off-Today-20150513 |title= 2015 SOHO INTL FILM FESTIVAL Kicks Off Today |access-date= September 2, 2016 |author= |date= May 14, 2015 |work= Broadway World}} 5. ^{{cite web |url= http://m.screendaily.com/5103738.article |title= Vision Films picks up Nicholas Brooks’ 'Sam' |access-date= September 2, 2016 |author= Tom Grater |date= May 12, 2016 |work= Screendaily}} 6. ^{{cite web |url= http://sbccfilmreviews.org/?p=34288 |title= Sam (Nicholas Brooks, 2015): USA |access-date= July 30, 2016 |author= Prof. Nico Maestu |date= November 17, 2015 |work= sbccfilmreviews.org}} External links
