Samir Rafig oglu Nuriyev (born March 9, 1975, Baku, Azerbaijan SSR) - Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Bio

Samir Nuriyev was born in Baku on March 09, 1975. He is married and has two children.

Education

In 1991, he entered the Engineering Business and Management Faculty of Azerbaijan Technical University and in 1996 graduated from the University with honors diploma.

In 2003-2005, he studied the Master’s program in International Development Policy at Duke University, USA.

Career

Samir Nuriyev began his career in 1996 as economist, and then worked as marketing manager and project coordinator in private companies.

In 2000-2001 – was employed by UNDP as business consultant for SME Development Project, in 2001-2003 – worked as project coordinator in AZPETROL Oil Company.

He was appointed to the position of Head of Entrepreneurship Development Department in the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2006.

In 2009, he was appointed as Deputy Head and in 2013 as Head of the Administration of State Historical-Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher” under the Cabinet of Ministers by the relevant Decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On April 12, 2016, Samir Nuriyev was appointed as Director of the State Housing Development Agency under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the relevant Decree of the Head of State.

By the decree of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, dated February 14, 2018, he was appointed The Chairman of the Board of the State Housing Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On April 21, 2018 Mr.Nuriyev was appointed as the Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Public activity

He is an Honorary Member of the Azerbaijan Architects' Union since 2015.

He is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party.
