Sampson McCormick (born March 13, 1986) is an American stand-up comedian, writer, actor and filmmaker. He began his career in comedy as a teenager in Washington, DC in 2001. He is most known for his independently produced comedy specials and films, including "Don't Make Me Take Off My Earrings", "That Bitch Better Be Funny", and occasional television appearances. McCormick also came to prominence as one of the first openly gay black men in stand-up comedy and made history in 2013, as the first out LGBTQ comedian to headline Washington, DC's historic Howard Theater and in 2018, as the first comedian to perform at a Smithsonian Institution at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
