AboutSarah Abouelkhair is an Egyptian architecture student in The American University in Cairo that became an overnight internet sensation by a social experiment that fooled half of the globe to prove that fake news can easily spread in the media. Her experiment started by a story on her instagram page about a giant BBQ party under the rocket's launchpad, then she quickly put up images of NASA, SpaceX, Netflix and Buzzfeed replying to her story, inviting her to the headquarters and even creating a documentary about it. The story spread rapidly and overnight she became talk of not just the nation, but the entire MENA region.
