Scary Poems for Rotten Kids is a comic anthology of short poems by Sean O'Huigin. The poems focus on "the most monstrous episodes of any ordinary child in the world".

The poem "Acid Rain" was made into an animated short film by the National Film Board of Canada, and the entire book was produced as an interactive CD-ROM by Discis Books in 1991.

  • Welcome: Wanderers and travelers are greeted by a goblin who leads them into a dark cavern full of horrors unimaginable.
  • The Day the Mosquitoes Ate Angela Jane: A mean kid named Angela Jane gets eaten by the queen of mosquitoes, who thinks that her clan will become stronger. Instead, the bad blood makes them all sick.
  • The Body: A poem about a slithering boneless creature known only as the "Body", which can slip under narrow spaces.
  • The Visitor: A kid gets an unexpected visit from a mysterious little critter.
  • Breakfast: During breakfast, a boy talks about his disgusting breakfast - and it's revealed that he's a monster for whom it is actually quite normal.
  • Acid Rain: A carefree little girl who enjoys walking out in the rain ends up getting washed away into a puddle by a polluted downpour.
  • Bye Bye: A little kid gets swallowed whole by a stalking monster in the darkness.
  • The Pocket: When a boy reaches into his pocket, something inside pulls him in.
  • Tweet Tweet: The speaker takes a gander at a monstrous bird with a victim caught in its beak - but soon realizes the victim is his uncle.
  • The Fog: A poem about ghastly phantom creatures that could be lurking within the mist on a foggy night.
  • The Munchies: Someone sneaking to the kitchen at night for a midnight snack ends up getting caught by a monster who wants him for its midnight snack. Of course, it's all just a nightmare.
  • The Gerbelgek: A poem about the "Gerbelgek", a disgusting monster who likes the taste of misbehaved children.
  • The Thing and I: On a dark, moonless night, a kid gets absorbed by a hideous slime creature.
  • Midnight: During the midnight hour, a kid hears strange noises coming from outside.
