The Stormers compete in the Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization, a branch of the New England Rugby Football Union. The Stormers have won three Division 3 High School titles since their founding in 2008. [1] HistoryThe Stormers received a grant in 2008 from the USA Rugby foundation, in an effort to establish the new club. [2] In 2012, the Stormers won the first of two straight state championships over the Needham High School rugby team. A year later, the Stormers again defeated Needham, this time by a final score of 14-10.[3] After a two year hiatus from the State Championship game in Worcester, Massachusetts, Scituate defeated a Hanover High School side in tiebreakers, after a 31-31 draw in regulation time. Scituate fly half Jack Finlay made the winning kick in extra time, and Scituate won their third title in 5 years.
