Sensu Core is a free and open-source cloud, server, and network management platform written in Go programming language. Sensu has a supported version of the software also (Sensu Enterprise).

History

Sensu software is developed and supported by Sensu Inc., established in 2017 and venture funded by Battery Ventures and Foundry Group.

Sensu was designed to address the problem of ephemeral cloud environments and avoid false alerts when a container or VM is shutdown intentionally. The founders were originally the principals at Heavywater Inc., an IT Consulting company.

Community

Sensu Core is freely available under the MIT license on Github.

Enterprise

The enterprise version of Sensu software builds on the free core version by providing commercial support and additional features such as federation, multi-tenancy, and integration for ServiceNow, Splunk, ElasticSearch, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.
