Early Life and EducationVij was raised in Detroit, Michigan after his parents' emmigration from India. His father worked as an engineer for Ford Motor Company and as part-time professor. He is the oldest of three siblings. In 1992, he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Michigan Technological University and, in 1995, an MSc in Engineering from the University of Michigan. In 1999, he received an MBA from the Purdue University.[1][2] CareerVij has held executive positions at Ford Motor Company, Ernst & Young, Visa INc., Deloitte Consulting, Microsoft and Intel Corporation.[3] He is the author of the book Moral Fiber: Awakening Corporate Consciousness. On an interview with HuffPost, he claimed the Dalai Lama inspired him to write this book, soon after their first encounter. John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, endorsed Vij and his book for its outlook on capitalism and human values.[4][5][6] He is also one of the inventors of a 'System for Personal Authorization Control for Card Transactions'.
