Showpad is a global mobile and web-based sales enablement software as a service (SaaS) platform, providing content, training, and coaching solutions for sales organizations around the world. A privately held company, Showpad was founded in 2011 in Ghent, Belgium by Pieterjan (PJ) Bouten, now Chief Executive Officer; Louis Jonckheere, now Chief Product Officer; and Peter Minne. The initial goal of Showpad was to provide easy access to sales-related content in order to internally align sales and marketing teams.

Through various acquisitions and introductions of new products and features, Showpad has expanded to have seven offices across the United States and Europe, with over 1,200 customers and 350 employees.[1]

History

Pieterjan (PJ) Bouten, Louis Jonckheere, and Peter Minne, founded Showpad in Ghent, Belgium in 2011. They had met working for Netlog, a social media platform in Belgium, then started [https://inthepocket.com In The Pocket], an agency for creating mobile apps.[5] Through the growth of this organization, they discovered the need for mobile content distribution, which is how Showpad started in 2011 as an iOS application. It has since also been released via Android app, web app and Windows app.

In 2012, the company launched Showtime, the largest annual sales enablement conference in Europe.[6]

In 2013, Showpad opened its first U.S. office in San Francisco, CA.[7]

In 2016, Showpad released its Salesforce[8][9] and Microsoft Dynamics[10] integrations. In 2017, [https://www.showpad.com/product/showpad-experiences/ Showpad Experiences][11] were launched to make static sales presentations more dynamic and interactive.[12]

In 2017, the U.S. Showpad headquarters was established in Chicago, IL.[13]

In 2018, Showpad also announced its acquisitions of LearnCore,[17] a Chicago-based software for sales training; and Voicefox,[18] a meeting intelligence software provider.

As of 2018, Showpad is GDPR compliant.[19]

Funding

Showpad has received several rounds of funding since its inception:

  • 2013: $2 million series A[20]
  • 2014: $8.5 million series B[21]
  • 2016: $50 million series C[22]
  • 2018: $25 million series C extension from Insight Venture Partners[23]
  • 2018: Total funding of $120 million[24]

Showpad has offices across the United States and Europe, with headquarters in Ghent and Chicago, and additional offices in London, Munich, San Francisco, Portland, and Wroclaw. Its more notable customers include Johnson & Johnson, GE Healthcare, BASF, Fujifilm, Bridgestone, Honeywell, and Dow.

Awards and Recognition

In 2015, the Tabby Awards/Business named Showpad as the winner of best Android Tablet App - Marketing & Sales.[25]

Showpad was named third in the Deloitte 2017 Technology Fast 50 list which acknowledges the fastest-growing technology companies in Belgium.[26] The company was also awarded a Bronze Stevie in from the American Business Awards in 2017 for its excellence in marketing technology.[27]

In 2018, Showpad was recognized as a CRM “Rising Star” in Destination CRM’s Market Awards, being named one of the top innovating CRM vendors in the market.[28] Showpad was also named “Best Overall SalesTech Company” by MarTech Breakthrough, an organization that evaluates and recognizes vendors and products in the marketing technology industry.[29]

Showpad’s executive team consists of Jason Holmes, President and Chief Operations Officer; Dan Matejko, Chief Revenue Officer; Theresa O’Neil, Chief Marketing Officer; Jacob Quartier, Vice President of Finance; Peter Gieregat, Vice President of People; Sumeet Ganju, Vice President of Product; and Lieven Baeyens, Vice President of Engineering.[30]
