Siby MonippallySiby Joseph Monippally is a Senior Indian advocate, Legal advisor and Agriculturist. He has played a vital role in shaping the agricultural sector of India by leading many Indian and International organisations into multi-state activities of Farmer's empowerment, Future agricultural practices, Agricultural technology, Strategic partnerships, Poverty alleviation and Extension activities. At the National level, He is the Chairman (Finance & Accounts Committee) of the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.(NAFED), while also being a member of the NAFED directorial board for the past 15 years. He also serves as the General Secretary of the Indian Rubber Growers Association and former Vice-Chairman of the Indian Rubber Board in 2008. His constant effort for the everyday Farmer led him to become an esteemed Member of the Global Farmer's Initiative by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. He is also the founding member of the Joint Venture between the German Farmer's Association(AHA) and an Indian Farmer's Association for Kisan Tyre's. The Son of Late Adv K.Jospeh Monippally and M.K Mary, Late Mr.Joseph was a Veteran Leader who empowered the early congress party in various fields in centre and state, being a strong farmers spokesperson he founded the Kerala State Co-Operative Rubber Marketing Federation(RUBBER MARK) and various other co-operative ventures which put Kerala on the World's Natural Rubber trade. Social CareerIndian Rubber Grower's Association (IRGA)A farmer's representative in India's pioneer Rubber Grower's Forum, He serves as the General Secretary of the IRGA and is closely linked with upholding the great cause of Natural Rubber in and around the country.Gathering CSR from multiple companies, IRGA annually meets to make farmer's more aware of the latest trends and also be globally updated about latest practices. Kerala State Co-Operative Rubber Marketing Federation (Rubber Mark)Serving as one of the Directors of Rubber Mark since the past 5 years, This company is a large example of upholding the Rubber Cultivators of Kerala and their Brand - Rubek is one of the largest manufacturers of Balloons in the World. Rubber Board of IndiaServed as a Member of the Rubber Board from 2008-14 and became the Vice-Chairman of the national body from 2008 for a single term. Farmer's ActivitiesKisan Tyres in collaboration with German GovernmentFounding Member of Farmer producer organisation for Rubber Growers (IRFPC), integrated rubber producers company is formed involving rubber growers of Kerala with an objective to produce 2 wheeler and 3 wheeler tyres namely “Kisan Tyres” where 262 rubber producer societies of predominantly rubber growing constituencies are involved.This farmer organisation is founded with the support of German Farmer Association (AHA). Thopprangkudy Farmer Producer CompanyEstablished this Farmer Producer Company in Idukki District, this is one initiative where farmer’s are provided with latest techniques of agriculture.A market for domestic sale and export was facilitated for getting premium price's till the grass-root level.With Cardamom, Pepper and Coffee together there are about 3,500 farmers directly involved in this initiative.Upto Rs.1 Crore rupees is spend on infrastructure building for the area of this operation and farmer groups were provided equipments for primary value addition of their produce. Sustainable Agriculture ParkCurrently setting up a sustainable agriculture park in the High range of Idukki by bringing in International organisations to provide latest technologies to the farmers for increasing their productivity and market linkage. This initiative is to primarily address the growing menace of excessive use of pesticides in the cardamom cultivation, which is directly deteriorating the health of the soil and the people. Strawberry CultivationFacilitated production of Strawberry in Vattavada panchayat of Idukki were 20 farmers were involved in the first year of the project and produced about 30,000 kilograms of produce. This Initiative was able to provide market linkage and better farm gate price to the farmers and further developments have led this movement being extended to the whole of Vattavada panchayat. Accelerator Activities1.Popularising Organic Agriculture in different states of India through NGO ’s while also providing Backward & Forward linkage for farmer’s produce. 2.Executive member of the Confederation of Indian Farmer associations and promotes philanthropy and grass-root innovation among youth. 3.Facilitated rubber and cocoa cultivation in North-Eastern states and tribal areas of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. 4. Allocated Crore's worth of relief material from NAFED and personally managed and distributed more than 200 tons of food grains, pulses, oil and other essential articles in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam Districts during the unfortunate Kerala Floods(2018) along with the help of the Idukki District Panchayath and later contributed Rs.51 lakh to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund and mobilised various end to end relief services from Centre to State,Inter-state & locally using our Farmer, NGO & Business network’s.
