Silva Vieira was a portuguese naif painter. Short BiographyHe dedicated part of his life painting Lisbon in its most genuine, in the alleys, in the kiosks and nooks he saw like no other. Silva Vieira used to still paint flowers and portraits of women. Silva Vieira's painting is authentic 'naif', with its naive and childish characteristics, and the artist's particularity was only to represents the city of Lisbon. Silva Vieira participated in all national and international naive painting fairs of the Estoril Casino Art Gallery. In 2001 he won a 1st Prize (which can only be attributed once to each artist) and honorable mentions in the remaining 23 editions. Victor Silva Vieira was born in Lisbon in 1939 and began exhibiting in 1961, having also obtained a third prize from the Câmara de Lisboa in Decorative Arts (1961) and the City of Guimarães Prize, which was awarded to him in 2001, among other awards. He died on January 2, 2004 at the age of 64, victim of prolonged illness.
