He recently burst onto the South Florida SoundCloud rap scene in mid-2018 after releasing his self-engineered singles "Evil Girls" and "Ashamed". Brice encompasses emo rock and hip hop in his music. Early lifeBrice Mitchell LaVie was born on January 27th, 2000 in Houston, Texas. He later moved to Lake Worth, Florida, where he attended Santaluces Community High School. His parents divorced when he was ten years old, and his mother raised him since alongside one younger brother. Brice's mother loved classic rock and pop music, often playing it in the car regularly. Brice taught himself how to play the piano in the 4th grade by first learning Ludwig van Beethoven's classic Für Elise. He also played trombone in his middle school band class. CareerBrice initially began making his own music in the 6th grade using FL Studio. He produced hip hop type beats and released them on SoundCloud under the alias "brICE". This spawned interest in his classmates and he often allowed them to rap over his beats. Brice began to take his music seriously while taking an audio engineering class in his senior year, teaching him the basics of mixing and mastering. His first self-engineered track, "Ashamed", was released on SoundCloud in 2018 under the name "Lil River". He got the name "Lil River" from the neighborhood he lived in. Shortly after, he changed his name to "SILVXR" because he did research and discovered that Silver (color) is believed to "draw negative energy out of the body and replace it with positive energy".[1] This is in line with fellow South Florida rapper XXXTentacion's ideals in which Brice draws a lot of inspiration from. SILVXR's most popular track, titled "Evil Girls", was released on July 14th, 2018. Musical styleBrice stated that he draws most of his recent musical influence from rappers Juice Wrld and XXXTentacion. He is also influenced by different genres such as rock, pop, and hip hop.
