Sir Thomas Lucas of St John's Colchester (1573-1625) was a Royalist knight. He married Elizabeth Leighton in 1603. Prior to marrying Elizabeth fell pregnant with their first child (Thomas).Before they could wed Sir Thomas senior was involved with a duel where he killed Sir William Brooke. A warrant was issued for his arrest resulting in him fleeing to the Continent to avoid prosecution. His sons included Thomas, John and Charles References |
