}}Snagov Collection Museum is taking care of cultural heritage from Snagov area.

It is a small local museum^[1]), the single private among a total of only 7 in Ilfov^[2] (35 km from Bucharest).

The purpose of collections is to collect, preserve, interpret, and display items with significance for the education, tourists and local cultural heritage.

There are 7 main collections (grouped on sub-themes) of over 1000 items of very different kind: old cards, postcards, photos, stamps, maps, letters, documents, coins, ethnography objects, books and articles, old objects of household use and peasant farms – from the communist period a.s.o. (related to Snagov area, events, persons – in connection with these places), enriched with different objects (many with specific histories) – that try to render something from the history of this area.

These « objects » collections are grouped (regularly) chronologically and presented also in A4 papers that have a title (theme) and a relevant "story" (that you can guess or – if requested – listen to). The existence of a "story" for each A4 page is a request of qualification at the international exhibitions (contests) ([https://www.f-i-p.ch/wp-content/uploads/OPEN-PHILATELY-Guidelines-Aug-2018.pdf OPEN class] in //www.f-i-p.ch/ Fédération Internationale de Philatélie]). And a part of the collections exhibited take part in such contests.

Fundatia Snagov has registered since 2009 at the Romanian Ministry of Culture (section Heritage – Decision no. 3229/ Heritage/26.01.2010 – Direction of Museums, Collections and Visual Arts, National Committee of Museums and Collections) a set of thematic collections specific to Snagov area, forming "The Museum of local history in Snagov area" trying to render and save a part of the (oral) culture, traditions, customs, objects, etc. – belonging to the local people (before globalization).

The collections are extremely visual, existing over 30 panels (each of 16-sheet A4) with many images and associated text.

The design and organisation of the collections allows a lot of flexibility so that parts of its collections form:

a) mobile museum (three collections consist mainly of objects exposed on panels)

b) all seven collections have a modern audio tour guide^[3] (in Romanian and English language which you can access with your smartphone, even remotely) and locally you can gen additional info and flexibility by using certain QR codes

c) exist few activities and quests – to increase interactivity

It is rather a specialized collection – because Romanian nomenclature enjoyed and mainly stayed on Snagov village.

n1) The collection of natural history exhibit various samples from local biodiversity (lake Snagov and surrounding old oak forests – Codrii Vlăsiei).

Exist also a set of aquariums (6+) and terrariums (4+) altogether with a pond and local (small scale) similar to local natural habitats.

Over 40 alive species can be seen by visitors (with supervision of local guide) and even feed 12+ species or even touch 6+ of them (as a small demo – living museums). Main purpose is to: educate, inspire action, and to study, develop, and manage collections. About these collections, many visitors finds:

a) very interesting – the visual time line with images and explanations about local evolution of communities and various changes.

b) the possibility to touch and interact (feed) alive species (and so to reconnect to nature and re-develop some empathy);

Access is provided any time for organized groups (with prior reservation) and only Saturday and Sunday 10:00–17:00 between April and September.

Among the objectives, Snagov Collection Museum – provides:

1) a "place" of "deposit" + "exhibition" (for those interested) – for different information, objects, traditions, customs – all of them, dimensions related to the history/specific of Snagov area

2) a new attraction point (tourist destination) – at Snagov Foundation – relevant for Snagov area, Muntenia and even Romania (at least through two collections – unique at international level)

3) a place where you can experience some traditional activities related to: fishing, pottery, basketry, textiles

4) a place where you can see species of fauna and flora specific to the area (a pond and a set of pipes and tanks – vivariums)

5) a place where it is exemplified (presents) ideas – solutions – environmental technologies both simple and modern (future) – in the hope that visitors will experience a change after having seen and after taking part in such experiences
