Both founders of the School have art degrees.[1] Dr. Sofia Khunteyev received her Master of Fine Art from Tashkent Institute of Theater and Art (Uzbekistan) and her D.A. from Tbilisi State University (Georgia). Igor Khunteyev has a Master of Fine Art from Tashkent Institute of Theater and Art (Uzbekistan). He also has a degree of Associate of Applied Arts (AAA) in Multimedia Production and Computer animation from Art Institute of Dallas.[2] After working for private US schools Akiba Academy, The Winston School, White Rock Montessori School, Hockaday School, the founders had opened the first branch.[3] The second branch of the Sofia Academy was opened in Miami, Florida in 2012.[4] CurriculumThe academy accepts pupils from five years old to adults with no upper age limit.[5] The main curriculum based on classical European drawing and painting tradition is divided into four levels according to student ages:[6]
