SoftMoc Inc. is a Canadian chain of shoe stores that sells moccasins, boots, athletic, casual & comfort shoes for children and adults. They are currently based out of Whitby, Ontario, Canada.^[1]

Created in 1990, SoftMoc was originally called the Great Canadian Moccasin Company and began as a kiosk in the Toronto Eaton Centre selling only Canadian made moccasins.^[1][2][3] After a few years as a kiosk, the company moved into its first 300 square foot store and began selling footwear other than moccasins. In order to reflect the change in their products but still recall their roots, the company changed its name to SoftMoc.^{[3] [4]}

As SoftMoc grew in the 1990s, it was achieved some firsts in Canadian retail. SoftMoc was one of the first companies to bring Dr Martens to Canadian storefronts and in 1996 it created the first online shoe store in Canada. In 2008, the company opened its flagship store in the Eaton Centre and by 2013 it had stores in all Canadian provinces with its expansion into the province of Quebec.^[1][3] By 2014, the company had over 100 stores across Canada.^[2][5]
