Robert McClenon (talk) 04:55, 19 February 2019 (UTC)}}The Special Service Medal of the Indian|Indian Armed Forces is awarded for services rendered under active service conditions by personnel of the Indian Armed Forces.[1] Appearance[1]The medal is an octagonal 35-mm cupro-nickel medal. In the center of the obverse is the symbol of the bird falcon. The reverse bears the Emblem of India surrounded by the legend Special Service Medal in both English and Hindi. It is suspended by a non-swiveling straight bar and name of the recipient is impressed on the edge. The ribbon is 32-mm in width divided into three parts with 16 mm of steel grey colour in the middle and 8 mm of red colour on the sides.
