Stone Tower Winery is a Northern Virginia winery located in Leesburg, VA. Set in the Hogback Mountain, the winery is comprised today of roughy 200+ acres with space to expand futher.:[1] Stone Tower winery produces two lines of wine. Stone Tower Estate wine is created at the winery using local production and bottling. Wild Boar Cellars is produced using grapes from around the world, but produced at the Stone Tower Winery facility. [2] HistoryThe WineryStone Tower Winery was founded by Mike and Kristi Huber who also own Belfort Furniture.[3] The Hubers then entrusted the winery to their daughter Lacey. The Winery is able to produce around 11,000 cases of wine annually which puts it toward being one of the largest wineries of the 40 in Loudoun County.[3] The initial size was expected to be around 75 acres of working vineyards and production facility but has expanded greatly to now include more than 200 acres.[4] Grapes and SoilVarietalsStone Tower has many types of both white and red varietals that it uses to make its wine. Stone Tower sits primarily on greenstone schist.[1] The two primary soil types are Catoctin channery silt loam and Meyersville-Cactoctin complex. A study by Loudoun County found that both soil samples are present in and around the area.
