Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company (SEDC)

The Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (SEDC) was established on 28 June 2010 by the Council of Ministers Resolution No. 169/ of the year 2010 which cancelled the founding order of the National Electricity Corporation and the devolution of all its real estates, property and movables, the rights and obligations of the National Electricity Corporation to the newly established companies in the field of electricity. These companies are SEDC, SETCO, STPG, MDE and SHGC. SEDC was registered in accordance with the Companies Act under the number 37108.

The Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company (SEDC) thus rectified its status to work as per the international standards through the preparation of plans and allocation of enough funds to execute the plans on the ground of reality, while ensuring the creation of an exemplary administrative organization through identifying the activities and the volume of the required work, which has reflected in the SEDC organizational structure and determining the responsibilities, competences and powers using job description for all job levels.. Since the customer satisfaction constitutes the cornerstone, the Company established a specialized Customer Services Center, whereas the Company extends its service to its customers in the different sectors (industrial- agricultural – residential – unified), besides it codified the work of its Automatic Control Center and developed its machineries and mechanisms and expanding its base of spreading to cover the entire Sudan to help push forward and promote the total gross domestic product (GDP) while broadening the base of the Company spreading to stretch all over the Sudan to guarantee the equitable distribution of electricity through the establishment of new networks and expanding the consumption of the agricultural and industrial sectors while giving the utmost priority to the needs and wishes of its employees and workers to keep them.

Establishment

On 22 June 2010 the Council of Ministers issued the Resolution No. (169), 2010 repealing the National Electricity Corporation (NEC) order and the devolution of all its real estates, movables, rights and obligations of the NEC to the newly established companies including the the Sudanese Electricity Distribution Company (SEDC).
