The Sullivan County Department of Corrections (Also known as SCDOC) is the correctional law enforcement arm of Sullivan County, New Hampshire and is thus responsible for providing corrections, rehabilitation, pre-trial services, inmate reentry and aftercare services for the 44,000 residents of Sullivan County, NH.

The primary and largest mission of SCDOC is operating the 150 person Jail which varies from minimum to maximum security inmates and provides Pre-trial services to individuals awaiting trial as well as housing individuals who have already been sentenced and are servicing on average 1 year or less for their crimes. These sentenced individuals live in special minimum security housing units separate from the pre-trial inmates

Community Corrections Center

The Sullivan County Department of Corrections was the first correctional facility in the country to offer a transitional reentry program tailored to inmates in order to challenge the high recidivism rate common in corrections environments. SCDOC’s TRAILS Program (Transitional Reentry and Inmate Life Skills) is a residential minimum security treatment center for men and women. The TRAILS program is cognitive behavioral treatment which addresses the following:

Criminal & Addictive Behaviors
Healthy Relationships
Substance & Alcohol Abuse
Education
Parenting
Mental Health & Wellness
Problem Solving
Decision Making

The SCDOC also provides case managers to inmates within the CCC to assist the offenders with finding job opportunities while they are still staying within the facility through work release and furlough programs.

Additional duties

In addition to the rehabilitation and correctional within the facility, SCDOC is also responsible for supervising individuals who are under house arrest as well as monitoring individuals in the community who are on ankle monitoring bracelets.
